[ARCHIVED] Story County Iowa Alerts Kelley Water Message

Yesterday, many Story County residents received a Story County Iowa Alerts message in reference to a water quality issue in the City of Kelley that was inadvertently sent to all residents in Story County. Emergency Management staff has spent the morning working with Inspiron, who provides the alerting system, and have found that the responsibility for the county wide message, intended for residents in Kelley, lies with our office. We believe we have corrected the issue and that any further messages intended for the city of Kelley should only go to residents in Kelley.

We are thankful to know that the system works intended and apologize to those outside of Kelley who may have been concerned by the message. The water quality issue only affects those who are connected to the Kelley city water system.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we use this new Story County Iowa Alerts system.
