UPDATED: The proposed manure management plan for the area south of Hickory Grove Lake Park has been withdrawn by the project developer on June 8, 2012. Future plans for the site are pending.
Story County received a manure management plan (MMP) on June 1, 2012, submitted by Rockstar Land & Livestock LLC. The MMP was for a proposed hog confinement facility to be constructed approximately one mile south of Hickory Grove Lake. The facility was planned to have a capacity of 2,294 head of swine >55 pounds, with an annual production of 4,992 hogs.
