[ARCHIVED] Summer Weather Safety

As Story County experiences temperatures in the upper 90’s we remind the public to exercise caution when working or participating in activities during the heat of the day. We ask you to check on neighbors who may be vulnerable to heat or may not have the capabilities to cool themselves or their home. We ask you protect your pets and livestock by ensuring they have ample water and shade available throughout the day.

The National Weather Service has assembled information on how to stay safe during extreme temperatures. There are tips on how heat affects your body, how to keep yourself and your pets cool, and information on heat related advisories and warnings. Follow this link for more information from the National Weather Service.
