Sept 11, 2012: The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Fire Advisory for Story County from 11 am to 9 pm today. The combination of low relative humidity, abnormally dry conditions, and strong south to southwest winds will result in extreme fire weather conditions. Field crops are nearly cured making them highly combustible and creating conditions for explosive fire growth. A Burn Ban is still in effect for Story County and those operating farm machinery are encouraged to keep their equipment clean and in good operating conditions.
