The National Ground Water Association recommends routine annual well maintenance to help ensure water quality & proper operation of a well. NGWA also recommends your well water be tested annually or anytime there is a change in taste, odor, or appearance, or anytime the system is serviced.

The 15th annual National Groundwater Awareness Week will take place March 10-16, 2013. The Iowa Environmental Health Association has agreed to be a promotional partner.

This is a time when NGWA and its partners educate the public about the resource of groundwater, its importance to public health, quality of living, and the environment, and for those who rely on groundwater from a household water well and how to take care of their water well system.

IEHA will promote groundwater awareness in connection with Groundwater Awareness Week. Groundwater Awareness Week has grown tremendously over the past 15 years. In 2012, a record 350+ Web sites promoted it - just one indication of the nationwide, even global reach Groundwater Awareness Week has had.
