[ARCHIVED] Story County Conservation will Open Campgrounds on April 5

Story County Conservation will open its campgrounds for the 2013 camping season on Friday, April 5.

Normally, campgrounds open on April 1, but due to the freeze, thaw conditions, SCC Ranger Dustin Eighmy said staff would like to allow the gravel campground pads to firm up before high amounts of usage.

Pending weather conditions, the campground shower house and water at Breezy Bay Campground will be open to the public for use on April 15. A reduced camping rate of $12 per night will be in effect until April 15.

Camping fees are as follows: Breezy Bay - $17, Primitive - $12, Dakins Lake - $15, Firewood – $5/10 pieces (only sold at Hickory Grove). See our website, www.storycountyiowa.gov/conservation, for a list of complete camping rules.
