Travel with SCC on a geode hunting excursion this fall! Spend Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22 in Keokuk, Iowa with Story County Conservation Naturalist Jessica Lancial.
Keokuk is known for its great abundance and variety of geodes. During this trip, participants will explore some of Keokuk’s unique geology and architecture, learn how to identify geodes, visit two privately-owned digging sites, and have the opportunity to bring geodes home.
If registered by August 1, trip cost is $120. After August 1, trip cost is $130. Payment must accompany registration; al registrations are required by 4:00 p.m. on September 7. All participants must be 18 years or older.
Fee covers: transportation, hotel, three meals, snacks, guided tour, and identification pamphlet. No geode collection materials will be provided. A packing list will be provided after participants register. If you have questions, contact Lancial at jlancial@storycounty.com.
