[ARCHIVED] Breakfast with the Birds at McFarland Park

Enjoy a quiet morning with the birds at McFarland Park on April 20. Join Naturalist Heather Hucka for Breakfast with the Birds from 7 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at McFarland Park (56461 180th Street) northeast of Ames.

Participants will learn birding basics and hike through the park, looking for some of Iowa’s fine feathered friends. The morning will end with bagels and fruit, while watching birds at the conservation center feeders.

Participants should wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Binoculars and bird identification books will be provided. All ages are welcome; however, this is not a stroller-friendly program.

Whether you are a novice or seasoned “bird nerd,” this spring birding program is not to be missed!
The fee is $4 per person (under 12 years is free) with pre-registration by 4 p.m. on April 17. In case of bad weather, this program will be cancelled.
