Join us for a canoe trip down a central Iowa river! Spaces still remain for the Adult/Child Canoe trip on Saturday, July 27.
The fee for the trip is $40.00 per canoe and registration with payment is due by 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 24. Participants will meet at the Story County Conservation Center at McFarland Park (56461 180th Street) northeast of Ames at 9:00 a.m., for a brief orientation before heading to a central Iowa river (to be determined).
Transportation to and from the river, canoes, paddles, life jackets, and coolers for lunches will be provided. Participants need to bring water bottles, sunscreen, swimsuit, towel, water shoes (or shoes that can get wet and dirty), and a sack lunch.
No canoe experience is needed to participate. The return time is approximately 4:00 p.m. The trip is dependent on weather and river levels.
