[ARCHIVED] Groundbreaking for Dakins Lake Expansion Project is September 9

The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking for the Dakins Lake Expansion Project on Monday, September 9 at 1 p.m. Attendees should meet at the existing campground (12635 710th Ave.) northeast of Zearing.

The park will close September 6 for construction and will remain closed throughout the project.

Phase 1 of the expansion project was awarded to McAninch Corporation on August 20. Story County Conservation anticipates that construction will be completed later this fall. Phase 2 of the project will be bid in late fall.
