[ARCHIVED] 2014 Citizen's Academy Announcement

The Story County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for its Citizen’s Academy XXIII. The three hour sessions (6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.) begin on Thursday, March 13, 2014 and continue on Thursday evenings for ten weeks with graduation on May 15, 2014. In the Citizen’s Academy, participants learn about the Story County Sheriff’s Office and what it takes to provide law enforcement services to the citizens of Story County. The sessions include presentations from Administration, Communications, Support Services, Field Services and the Jail Division. Topics include firearms, traffic safety, accident investigation, emergency vehicle operations, drug investigations and much more. There is no cost to participate.

Applications may be obtained on the Story County Sheriff’s Office website at www.storycounty.com or may be picked up at the Story County Sheriff’s Office.
Completed applications must be returned to the Sheriff’s Office by no later than February 20, 2013. Class size is limited to 18 and seats fill up rather quickly.
