Fun-Loving Outdoor Adventure Team (FLOAT)
FLOAT Camps teach outdoor skills to youth completing grades 3 - 12. The length of each camp varies.
FLOAT I - Youth completing grades 3 or 4
Campers learn basic outdoor skills while preparing for the higher levels of FLOAT camps. Fishing, canoeing, map reading, outdoor cooking, and other outdoor skills will be taught.
FLOAT II - Youth completing grades 5 or 6
Campers learn a variety of outdoor skills, including canoeing, orienteering, outdoor cooking, and fishing. Skills are tested during an overnight camp out.
FLOAT III - Youth completing grades 6 or 7
Campers explore life on an Iowa river during an overnight canoe trip. Campers must have prior canoe experience or have attended a previous FLOAT camp.
FLOAT IV - Youth completing grades 7 or 8
Campers explore Iowa underground through caving and hiking in this two-night camping trip.
