Camping

Camping is allowed at designated areas from April 1 to October 31. All campsites are closed from November 1 to March 31, except for the remote campsite at Robison Wildlife Acres which is available year-round. 

Campgrounds have a mix of reservable and non-reservable sites; non-reservable sites are available on a first come, first served basis. Limit of occupancy is 14 consecutive days; campers are then required to leave the park for a minimum of 48 hours. 

Camping is allowed at the following areas:

Hickory Grove Park in Colo

Breezy Bay campground and Primitive campground

Dakins Lake in Zearing

Main campground and Primitive campground

Robison Wildlife Acres south of Nevada

Remote camping

In an effort to reduce the spread of the emerald ash borer (EAB) and protect our natural resources, the Story County Conservation Board prohibits the importation of firewood from outside the county into Story County Conservation parks and natural areas.
