  1. Board of Supervisors Proclamation Request

    The Story County Board of Supervisors welcomes the opportunity to honor, celebrate, and recognize notable days, weeks, months, issues, and celebrations within the County by reading and presenting proclamations at their weekly meeting.

    Proclamations may be granted for the following reasons:

    • Federal Holidays
    • Cultural Celebrations
    • Local Arts
    • Raising awareness about local issues
    • Heritage Months

    The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to deny any proclamation request. Proclamations will not be issued for political campaigns, or events contrary to Story County policies, for-profit causes, religious beliefs, and/or pending ballot issues.

    How to request a Proclamation:

    1. Proclamation requests must be submitted a minimum of 15 days prior to the formal meeting targeted for the presentation.
    2. Requests will need to be submitted using this form. Proclamation requests will not be received via email or mail.
    3. Requests may include content specific to their proclamation. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to format the proclamation and edit content to best tailor the proclamation to County purposes. This may require additional correspondence.
    4. Proclamation requests will receive a confirmation email with the date and time of the proclamation if approved by the Board of Supervisors.

    Keep in mind:

    • A proclamation does not possess exclusive rights to the day, week, or month; thus, there may be overlapping recognitions.
    • Proclamations are not automatically renewed; requests must be made on an annual basis.
