Honor Flights

Honor Flights recognize American Veterans for their sacrifices and achievements by flying them to Washington, DC to see their memorials at no cost. Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based out of Fort Dodge that arranges Honor Flights for eligible Veterans in Iowa. The all-day trip provides an incredible experience, and Veterans are encouraged to apply. Handicap assistance is available.

Eligible wartime and peacetime periods

  • World War II………...December 7, 1941 – December 31, 1946
  • Korean War.......……June 25, 1950 – January 31, 1955
  • Vietnam War*………August 5, 1964 – May 7, 1975

*If a Veteran was in Vietnam between 02-28-1961 and 08-04-1964, the Veteran is still considered wartime service.

On November 11, 2019, the Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight Board opened eligibility to Peacetime Veterans who served between WWII and Korean War (January 1, 1947 - June 24, 1950) and Peacetime Veterans who served between Korean War and Vietnam War (February 1, 1955 - February 27, 1961).
