Emergency Response Team

The Story County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team stands ready to respond to critical incidents and emergency situations across Story County. Additionally, the Emergency Response Team frequently provides support to other area agencies through mutual aid efforts to ensure safe, effective, and professional protection of citizens across Iowa.

Not only are members of the Emergency Response Team trained to respond to incidents such as active shooter, hostage rescue, and armed threats; they are equipped and ready to respond to incidents involving natural disaster rescue and support.

The Emergency Response Team trains year round with a variety of tactical, physical, and mental  conditioning. Made up of full time Sheriff's Office employees and other sworn personnel, the men and women on the Emergency Response Team are some of the most dedicated and skilled professionals within our agency.

All operations of the Emergency Response Team fall under the command of the Field Services Commander. For more information on the Emergency Response Team, you may contact the Field Services Division at (515) 382-7474.
