We are taking foster applications for any individual or home that is wanting to spread some extra love this year!

Fostering is a rewarding process that saves many lives, and without it, Story County Animal Shelter wouldn’t be able to provide all the extra care, attention, and love to all the animals that come through our front door. We have foster homes for many different situations such as neonatal kitten care with orphaned kittens, mothers with kittens, specialized medical care, surgery aftercare, and “give me a break” which is like a short vacation from shelter life. As a foster parent you would be responsible for basic care and not the veterinarian care of your foster animals. Our Foster Team walks you through all aspects of what your particular foster animals need and has your back through the whole process.
